WHY ANIMALS DESERVE LEGAL RIGHTS-summary

In the article entitled “Why animals deserve legal rights”, Steven Wise state that the having right is important because it shows importance of existence. And the law is distinguished in between animals and people: they suppose that animal do not have right but, people have right. Also, a lot of people think that animals are existed for human. So, the animal and people usually own have been according all animal such as killing for food and using for circus. In addition, legal thinker thinks that the right is controlled by autonomy. It is not correct. First of all, a lot of people do not act with autonomy in every time and the animal can have autonomy. Second, some of animal has emotion like human. Third, the animal can understand effect and cause. Finally, In case of mute people, they can not speak like nonhuman but they have right. Therefore, animal have to have right.
